I"m afriad it's not just that acknowledging that there something wrong with them, it's the environment they're in, the poor society, the struggling economy, the faltering government- who wouldn't get psychiatric problems being in sometimes an overwhelmingly stressful system of living?

I'm sure this news holds true to Syrians as well.

dude, amal - i know........ there's stuff like that going on in my family in syria.... it's the stubborn thinking + the bad economy that's screwing everything...

but i think that if they (the patients) listened to their relatives and sought medical help, if they looked hard enough they'd find it... there are some excellent doctors in syria

you know --- this problem is a social problem... the governments of the arab countries need to start a campaign or something and make movies, commercials, posters, advertisements that show SEEKING PSYCHIATRIC HELP IS NOT SHAMEFUL!!!

This backwards way of thinking is ruining so many lives and destroying so many families.... one thing always leads to another...

these DAMNED men have got to stop worshiping their manhood and have to realize that seeking help doesn't make them any less of a man but bil 3aks even MORE of a man cuz he did something that everyone else thought was impossible to do.... sigh... i wish i could hijack all the television stations of the world and announce this to everyone
